Rent a Manual Transmission Car

Congratulations! You’ve found Rent Manual Transmission, your source for information on finding rental cars with manual transmissions.

Insuring a Manual Transmission Car

August 13th, 2009

It has been noted here, and elsewhere that one of the primary reasons that car rental companies don’t like to rent manual transmission cars is due to the fact that inexperienced drivers often get them looking to learn how to drive a stick shift. Obviously, this causes a lot of headaches because these drivers burn the clutch and are generally poor at driving a manual. So, for rental agencies, it costs more to insure manual transmission cars. However, if you happen to be shopping for a manual transmission car, you will be relieved to know that there is essentially no difference in the eyes of the car insurance agencies.
